Broiled Lemon Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 pound firm tofu

  • 1 teaspoon organic lemon zest

  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1-1/2 tablespoons onion, finely minced

  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced

  • 1 tablespoon ginger root, peeled and grated


Directions

Cut the tofu into 8 slices and arrange in a single layer in a glass dish.

Mix the remaining ingredients in a small bowl and pour the mixture over the tofu. Marinate for 3 to 12 hours.

Preheat the broiler and broil 3 minutes on each side until browned. Serve hot or at room temperature.
